“Gorge On Sugarcube!” VIDEO

“Gorge On Sugarcube!” (from the Matrushka Series)

A child’s been sick in the village for too long. His parents have been giving care at home, an herbal remedy, but the child must stay indoors and communicates with his peers only thru letter writing… Word spreads thru the community of a growing pandemic. Debate is underway what to do, who to send to seek medicine or a miracle cure… On the chosen hero’s quest, he unearths an ethnographic video long lost in the storage area of a “monument to suffering.” The video depicts a time of prosperity, joy, and good health. The hero returns with the cure information only to find that news of his quest has sparked competition, amongst the medical community, to heal the village and wipe out the epidemic. Information is spreading and doctors are educating the public about treatment options… A conference for medical professionals is organized in Tampa to discuss various cures.

Reviews of Clues ClUeS Record Are In.

69 Pits!!!!! A first. Thank You!!!
“In many ways the work of a critic is easy. We risk very little, yet enjoy a position over those who offer up their work and their selves to our judgement. We thrive on negative criticism, which is fun to write and to read. But, the bitter truth we critics must face is that, in the grand scheme of things… the average piece of junk is probably more meaningful than our criticism designating it so. But there are times when a critic truly risks something… and that is in the discovery and defense of the new.

The world is often unkind to new talent, new creations. The new needs friends.
Last night I experienced something new, an extraordinary record from an singularly unexpected source. To say that both the record and its makers have challenged my preconceptions about music, is a gross understatement– they have rocked me to my core.

In the past I have made no secret of my disdain for Clues Collective’s famous motto: “Anyone Can Play Guitar”. But I realize only now do I truly understand what they meant. Not everyone can become a great artist, but a great artist can come from anywhere.

It is difficult to imagine more humble origins than those of the genius now recording at Constellation, who are, in this critic’s opinion, nothing less than the finest Clues in North America.Pitchfork Media

The Cat The Mouse “Niagara Falls Tape”

VVN presents the golden & now legendary, EP from Fort Collins’ The Cat The Mouse.
Niagara Falls Tape was recorded, as the title suggests, near to the NY & Canadian
border onto Rick’s 4 track cassette. Fredrick Burton III wrote these songs while living &
working in Niagara Falls during the coldest winter in 30 years. The falls froze still
that year for 37 minutes, 4:12am, February 17, 2009. This release features the
The Cat The Mouse members, KJ Johnson, Hugh Browder, and Jason Hogg.

This release costs 5$.
